Everybody knows newman has design PH1 258degree&PH2 264degree & PH4 280degree
even PH5 300degree for XU10J4RS,but dealer
told me PH3 also avaliable, duration about
272degree,but it's a special order,so I have
to pay more money, does anyone ever hear about
that(PH3 camshafts)?
PH2 camshafts just little better than std,
but PH4 camshafts could have been a lumpy
idle and horrible fuel consumption,so....
how about PH3 272 duration camshafts?

Don't let the PH 2 figures fool you, they are a good gain over standard.

The biggest thing you need to worry about on these engines is the lift, if PH 3 has more than the ph 2 I wouldn't touch it on a standard engine.

ph2 is a tad tight in a standard engine, the inlet alone gives a very good idle, but I havent drivent it much more than up and down the back lane so can't give any more on how they drive.

afaik, there isnt a PH3 for the RS engine?

I'll replace the OE pistons to Wossner forge pistons,so I won't worry about piston hit the
valves,I had driven a GTI6 fit with PH2 camshafts
and ecu remap, idle is very good, even sounds like standard engine, power gain is fine, but I hope it can be better and easy to drive in a traffic- jam, too.maybe my hope seems like too greedy Smile
