As above?

I need a new rad and can't decide whether to wander down to GSF and get an OE replacement or get a Nissens one?

Have seen the FAQs about rads and lower hoses, so will check out what type I have too. Excellent guides btw chaps, this forum is a great resource.

Yes i would say Yes

They should last a lot longer as they wont corrode as much and they bring your temp levels down significantly Yes

Okay cool. I did have one before on a 16v 106 and it was pretty good. I was impressed with the quality. I'll just have to put my hand in my pocket!

The new 'Ordonez' OEM radiators are far superior to Nissens. they have a better mesh, build quality and ability to cool (about 5 degrees over nissens). The downside is they are slightly more difficult to fit and require a small bit of plastic to be cut out to fit. Phone up the boss of this company (don't order online) and ask for an Ordonez OEM radiator for a gti-6 (I think they are around £125) with next day delivery.

They don't any more. They still list it but you'll get a copper core one if try and buy one.

ordonez all the way.. the plastic end tanks are not very well moulded on all the nissens i've fitted... mainly pressure cap and lower rad inlet!

Will steer clear of ECP then! I'll check out the local GSF in the morning and see if the do the Valeo one. Sounds good if it's alloy otherwise I'll check out the Ordonez one.

Thanks for the help guys

Dont waste your money on the Valeo, yes the core is alli however the fins are made from only what I can describe as tin foil and they only do it with the bottom hose fitting that you twist on not the push in with the spring clip most gti-6 have on them. I bought a nissen for a tenner more, good enough for Rich w and the supercharge guys good enough for me..
