As the title suggests when replacing a swinging arm on my daughters car the nearside drive shaft popped out of the gearboxShock .
So my question is should there be a wire clip on the end of the splined driveshaft that goes into the gearbox (I havn't taken the shaft out of the gearbox totally as it started to empty the contents of oil onto my drive so I quickly pushed it back inRoll eyes

No, that's normal and quite easy to do when changing suspension arms. Once the wishbone is fitted, it can't go anywhere so it's not an issue.

Indeed, it actually makes it quite useful when changing a driveshaft seal Big grin
