I have got the valves out of the head. Stripped down because the belt slipped a notch. After being retimed, it's now tapping slightly, multitudes of blue smoke on startup and dog rough. Although the compression was alledgedly tested at the garage, we weren't convinced and have taken the head off. My query is - is it obvious if a valve is bent or is the deviation so slight it had to be checked by a machine shop.________________________________________ chris |

They can be ever so slight to need checking with a DTI gauge, also simply replacing the valve can often still have a tap, the seats do need checking and cutting if needed, worst case is that a valve guide requires replacement.________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

Just a quick update. Had the valves checked and there were 7 bent exhaust valves. At least we know what the problem was.________________________________________ chris |
