if i want to go fast? surely lowering the car with the correct suspension set up will improve stability and increase cornering speed whilst reducing body roll?________________________________________ Team Nile 6Team: 40.2 MPG 5 x a 306 owner! currently abusing type r's in a town near you ™ I truely live for the 306 ® Build date: 29th October 1997 Wednesday's car midweek madness |

"with the correct suspension set up" is the important part, not how much you lower it. Usually 30-40mm gives best handling, but a lot of the setup is given from damping settings, spring rate, camber, etc. if you want true decent handling, coilovers with very stiff springs, lowered 25mm, would probably be the best way to go. But im guessing you only have a couple of hundred to spend? if you have enough go for what i said. If not, either a) dont waste your money and leave it, or get a decent aftermarket setup which lowers it more like 40mm, something like bilsteins etc which are usually in the region of £3-400 iirc. ________________________________________ 309 GTi6-T |

Dont order from Gmax whatever you do....Took them 8 weeks to tell me that they wont be making anymore of the 306 kits for a while....allthough my car was off the road for the length of time i was waiting. Ended up going for a KW coilover V1 kit instead. ________________________________________ EX Bianca 6 owner,Now drives: Octavia vRS |

Grip and handling are two different things. These handle incredibly well on the standard setup if its all working properly. Lowering it without sorting out the damping will make it worse handling, although grip may well be increased. Just because the grip is higher doesn't mean you'll go faster, especially over more bumpy roads. Its your car - do what you like! ________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

i had a 60mm lowering kit for my old 306 with gmax 60mm springs, new dampers and new rear shocks and was very happy with the way it handled. im after the same sort of thing for my 6. it handles well as it is but im lookin to drop the tire profile to 45mm and drop it 60mm i have sourced a gmax kit in stock from demon tweeks springs dampers and shocks. £300????________________________________________ Team Nile 6Team: 40.2 MPG 5 x a 306 owner! currently abusing type r's in a town near you ™ I truely live for the 306 ® Build date: 29th October 1997 Wednesday's car midweek madness |
