the bloke at the garage said to take the drums apart and clean out the brake dust but when i got outside i realised they are discs on the back.
the hand brake cable shouldn't need adjustment it doesn't come up to high.

i just had an mot done and it has failed on the brake load sensing valve and hand brake efficiency. i know how to free up the sensing valve but was wondering if this is causing the handbrake problem.the bloke at the garage said to take the drums apart and clean out the brake dust but when i got outside i realised they are discs on the back. the hand brake cable shouldn't need adjustment it doesn't come up to high. |

if the mechanic said you need to clean out the drums and you have discs, i would really consider taking your car else where ________________________________________ Team allesclar ® |

Spray lots of WD40 on the spring valve and wiggle it about until it moves freely.Make sure disks and pads are all ok. Right before you take the car in for retest, drive round the block with the handbrake lightly applied (a couple of clicks should be alright). Now watch it sail through the efficiency test If all the above fails, check that your drums have not fallen off the car ________________________________________ My Pugrun 2007/2009 video clipsTake a look Pugrun 2007...Lose yourself Xbox Live ID: Marksixysix (Forza 3, Forza 4 PES 2010, COD 6/MW2, WRC 2010). You can tighten the handbrake cables up by a couple of turns too.________________________________________ Ex SC-6Now in a Megane R26 |

I wouldn't touch the handbrake travel till you sort the load sensing valve, its likely that the discs are just all rusty and it may not need adjusting at all.________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

i have been under there today and it was moving freely, i have sprayed some wd40 on anyway but it seems ok.i had a thought now i am home and could it be that the part that pushs the lever out is not working properly? (sorry but don't know alot about the brake set up but am trying to learn) |

it might be that the bit attached at the lower damper bolt isn't located properly, have seen many garages get this wrong.________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

i have had a look today and got someone to press the brake for me but the load sensor arm isn't moving, as it is not seized then it must be the piston that pushes it that has gone. i have nver had to change one of these before so any advise or guides would be good |
