hi all, just wondering why my car has decieded to idle funny, its revs on its own for abit, and doesnt go below 10k revs, i have changed the throttle body for one i ported and polished, but a have checked and there is no airleaks, what else could it be?

stick the old throttle body back on see what happens.

Have you adjusted the accelerator cable adjuster on the throttle body at all?

nope its how it was before i changed the throttle body,

Adjust so cable is longer and all should be fine

i can take the throttle cable out and it will be the same tho

Has the little grub screw been adjusted to push the linkage open?

1 by the linkage that the cable attaches too

if you disconnect the cable from linkage is it the same? can linkage be moved closed I.E sticking open but can be manually closed

nope if i take the cable out it will idle the same, and the linkage moves freely, doesnt stick anywhere

mind does this as well and been trying to find the problem for ages i had a new ICV straight from pug and didnt cure the issue.

Make sure the throttle body springs fully closed.

I seem to have fixed it. Car seems to rev a little faster with this throttle body, all i have done is unplug the map sensor and plug it back in, going to take the ICV out and clean that next week and see if that sorts anything Smile will keep u posted.
