Before i go buying any parts i just want to make sure i've got it right Smile

XU7 alloy block
D-turbo Crank
1.9 MI16 rods/pistons giving 8.0:1

Is that the general jist ?

1.9 MI6 or 1.9 8 valve crank will do as well, same 88mm stroke, MI is fully counterweighted I believe, which the 8 valve isn't, nor is the diesel.

valve cutouts I'm not sure how compatible they are between the newer style heads and the MI16, but as they'll be low compression they might be further away from the head.

Don't forget the gti6 heads have a smaller combustion chamber so take that into account when specifying your pistons.


You could just buy Ash's engine if its still available, he can advise you on stuff I;d imagine or point you to someone that could.

Sandy Brown would be able to give you a few ideas or sort your pistons for you, depends how busy he is.
