Hi guys, i've had my 6 for 10 months now, & i've had this strange cammy noise, strangely enough it hasn't got any worse over the period that i've owned the car, the noise falls & rises with the revs but its not always noticeable, I can here it more with the oil filler cap is off, its just so annoying, help please lads ________________________________________ Team Diesel |

Surely if its valve's tapping the pistons I will here it all the time, in this case once she's warmed up the noise stops ________________________________________ Team Diesel |

well, I think a tapper is unlikely i've heard them before and is nothing like the sound, lifters is sounding something like it, could be slightly varnished maybe??________________________________________ Team Diesel |

I had this problem literally yesterday. Never made the noise before, cambelt done less than 10k ago.It stopped once it was warm and hasn't happened since. I'm going to check the plugs over the weekend, fingers crossed thats what it is.
