mine just done this in last month or so two, think it may be a sensor, or it could be broken or cracked abs rings.

My abs still works despite the warning light.

probably a sensor then to be honest. Have oyu had the wheels off and checked the abs rings? Checked the sensor connections and earths? Free things to check

I'd be very surprised if it still works. The light is on by default and the ABS unit has to turn it off if everything is ok.

A fault anywhere in the system will render it inoperative.

As said above, it will be a sensor or a damaged ring.

well mine definitely still works with the light on, have tested it from 100 mph, and could feel it kicking in.

As I say, any faulty sensors or rings will render the system inoperative so if you're absolutely certain it works then your fault must be either a wiring fault between the ABS unit and the light or a faulty instrument cluster.

Personally I think your ABS isn't working and it's a sensor / ring fault.

On a side note, testing your ABS at 100mph is a very stupid thing to do. If it doesn't work you'd lock up and the car could easily turn round on you if the rears lock first. You don't need anything more than 10mph to see if the wheels will lock.

i didnt purposely test the abs at 100mph, i had to brake from that speed, and it defintely worked.

Okay, if you're adamant it works then it's a fault with the light Yes

right ok. I was under the ompression though that the abs light being on was an indication there was a fault in the sytem, not necessarily that it wasnt working at all?

What fault do you suspect you have then?

Any serious system fault including sensors and rings will render the system inoperative and you are adamant it is still working...

i dont know, but i know my abs works. seeing as how i have driven the car and can feel it working.

Could be a dodgy connection, short in the circuit or something for the bulb, will have to have it checked out.
