Throttle response won't be as sharp and switching between open and closed loop fuelling will become unpredictable.

You can't really diagnose mixture control issues by disconnecting sensors as it has too much effect on what the ECU is doing. You may find it's not the TPS at all and even with a new sensor your problem returns.

what rich said mate... all you have to do is get a multimeter on it... or even easier get actuator test on diagnostics and check at closed, mid, full throttleYes

A supercharged 6 wont run with one disconnected as it relies more on it for LOAD values..

I had my 6 for around 1yr ½ and i changed the battery and front springs and when i bought it all it came with was MOT cert

Ive had this Rallye since the end of march and like i say spent about a grand getting it right, yet this came with a folder full of receipts... strange

TBH i dont even want it anymore, i used to like driving my old one, going for a pointless drive just for a hoon, CBA with this, its a school runner and thats it, if i could sell it i would, but know i wont recoup the £3800 it owes me and after id lost £3500 on that bag of shit Leon FR over xmas i cant afford to lose anymore.... so im stuck with it

Look on the bright side, at least you haven't got two of the f*ckers to worry about Doh

I'm sure you will resolve the issues. It's like my last Rallye, in 3.5 years all that went wrong was a dead battery. I am feckin jinxed now though!

Being the w*nker i am i got rid of my 6 because of "fuel economy", got myself a loan and bought a newish SEAT Leon FR TDi, after 3 months this f*cked up and lost £3500 when selling, + im back to square one, with a Rallye for shite fuel eco and stuck with repayments of the loan......... if only i had held on to itSad

Have you tried an ECU reset yet? Worth a go.

Turbo oil seals gave way at 47k miles, shat the rest of the oil through the exhaust, and inturn seizing the engine, im sure the garage said it was starved and threw a conrod Dunno

either way ive have 2 bad experiences with VAG diesels, and will NEVER buy another

The Leon i bought was from a well known franchised SEAT dealer with 1 previous owner 45k miles and full SEAT dealer history at every interval on the dot

Right bit of a update, ive bought a TPS from someone on here and fitted it, and the car has stopped jerking when backing off so i presume the TPS is working ok, however ! driving to a job this morning, went to turn in and it just died on me, no coughs or splutters just cut out Sad it restarted fine and when i was backing up it cut out again, so as i got it back out onto the road (keeping the revs on ) i gave it some beans and it was fine after that

What sensor do i need to replace now Angry ?

Is the car holding the revs when you are steering?

If not it could be the steering sensor letting it cut out.

Update again !

Been out to "reclean" the ICV with carb cleaner, also give the MAP a little clean, put it all back together and on idle it revs on its own up to 2.5k then back to 1k and will not stop doing it, reset the ECU and idleing has gone ok now, will have to wait and see about the cutting out issue
