My 16v xsi seems to be drinking loads of fuel at the minuite and i cant find out why. Its got new plugs, new lambda and cat and a clean K&N panel filter. Im getting about 50 miles out of 10quid. Does anyone know how to test the ECU water temp switch and what the readings should be.? Ive heard it could also be the map sensor, can this also be tested?? Thanks guys. |

If it's the same sensor as the GTi-6 then there's an FAQ in the FAQ section on how to test the sensors and what the readings should be________________________________________ My old man wrote me a letter from prison once. It said if you don't want to end up in here, stay away from crime, women and drugs. Trouble is, that don't leave you much else to do, does it? |

Tbh, that doesn't sound far off normal. If you are doing lots of short journeys then that's pretty good. ________________________________________ You feed beefburgers to swans. I may have been speeding Mr Policeman but [a] I live for the 306 and [b] did you see that dog? omfg |

To be honest it does do alot of short runs now that i dont need it for work. The mrs uses it to go to the shops and thats all it does until the weekend. But when i do about 80 miles in it at weekends the fuel return is still crap. It runs perfectly and it does make me wonder if there is actually anything wrong with it. The price of fuel is also a big factor coz you dont get much more than a thimble full for 20 quid now. |

It's not far off 30mpg with the price of fuel what it is. It's probaby ok if it's running as it should. ________________________________________ You feed beefburgers to swans. I may have been speeding Mr Policeman but [a] I live for the 306 and [b] did you see that dog? omfg |
