Not a car exactly, but pretty close!

Got bored yesterday, unemployment fun. Decided to make a racing seat setup for my spare PC

Firstly, I managed to get a Logitech G25 for free of my mate, for those that don't know it features a 900 degree steering wheel (just like a real car), 3 pedals and a 6 speed H shifter w/ reverse just like the GTI 6.

Secondly, I robbed the drivers seat out of my old phase 1 306 Dturbo, cloth ftw.

Then began the putting it all together, I decided that I'd need quite a bit of room for this so I've set it up down in one of my concrete sheds, nice and cool with power and sturdy wooden structures to clamp stuff to. I used a spare 2.1 surround sound system to provide the sound and I strapped the sub directly to the back of the seat. Gives amazing bass and feel when you're driving.

Picture time!

Overview

Display is a 24" Syncmaster or something, quite a nice monitor

Listening to music whilst sitting in the chair just blows your mind

Phase 1 Dturbo interior is surprisingly comfortable, mounted it to an old chair to get the height

Finally the gear stick, tempted to do a few resistance mods on this as it feels a bit loose and nothing like using a real one

Next up in the pipeline for this, I'm going to rob the center console gear stick surround and handbrake + surround off the old DT. Then going to fit the G25 gearstick into the 306 surround with a bit of modifying, and also wire the handbrake into the PC using this

This works with most games, but am using a game called Live for Speed. Its a really good simulator developed by some Swedish people.

Anyone fancy a go? Razz
