Does anyone know of any major problems when taking off skimming and replacing cylindr head on 306 gti 6 |

Just have a look around mate - there are quite a few potential pitfalls. You can't skim them much and you have to be very, very careful not to bend any valves or valve guides. Plenty of info on here but you'll have to look for it. Might be an article in the FAQ section as well.________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

Skimming head because head gasket has gone so what is max skim on these.The only thing not sure about is the injection system as iv'e not worked on these before is there any major probs with these or is it straightforward as per Haynes manual? thanks |

Other than that its the same as any other headgasket change/skim really When pinned the cams are locked at the point where some valves are open and if you remove the pins the cams will move and the valves can hit each other(inlet/exhaust) so be very carefull. Also I dont know if you are aware that ideally you need to remove the exhaust manifold as it is very tight and you could easily hit the valves that are held open Hope this helps ________________________________________ Ryan |
