Even if they physically fit, they are designed and set up for a totally different car so I wouldn't do it.

It would be worth tryin them on if they fit just to see how it feels on the road.

They fit yes, but they'll be well under damped at a guess, and springs would be way too soft aswell.

you ask for advice , get it then competely disregard it Huh?
the 205 setup is for a lighter car,the struts themselves are shorter aswell, springs are too soft,it will bottom out at every opportunity f*cking the dampers and will ruin your handling.

thats the facts.

yes i accept the fact they are designed and set up for a diiferent car, but surely if i was to put them on and it felt and performed fine it would be a result.
If they would bottom out then al give it a miss.

thanks anyway

actually the rears will work just fine, 1.9 gti 205 dampers share the same part number as sport 2 306's, i.e xsi gti6 and dturbo hdi.

the fronts I think wont be too badly setup if you stick to a standard ride height, but, the droplink tab is in the wrong place which might make the droplink foul on the hub carrier.

The droplink hole was my main concern and had read somewhere it wouldnt fit, but thought i would check to see if anyone had tryed it.

They've got 40mm lowering springs with but i was going to swap them with standard gti-6 springs if i was to fit them to raise the ride height to stop them bottoming out.

I will the give the whole thing a miss to save hassle.

cheers

damping rate is likely to be just the same. Likewise with a most std pug shocks being all the same, its a damper, its not all about weight. Springs may be different but again fit them and have a go, there is very little difference in std 205 gti and 306 gti springs.
Koni will have uprated the std shocks by 10 or 20% they wont have fully tested them on a 205 and them fully tested them on a 306 they just done do it like that. They know the rate the dampers must be.

If he decides to sell again al ask him for a trial fit before buying.
They're adjustables to, so i suppose i could play about with the damping to see what results i got.
