an easy one for everybody... recently acquired the car and was wondering if the temperatures it runs at are right, i believe the car has been stood a while altho it has a new radiator, fitted up on perchase... the range of water temps it runs at vary from 75c - motorway - all the way upto 95c in traffic (the traffic cleared at this point)... this seems quite a big range to me... oil sat at 90c, never moved... will fit a new thermastat regardless... one other thing, what temp shold i expect the fans to come in at?? any feedback much appreciated... watto

I had the same question when I bought mine, mine runs in the same bracket as yours, my fan comes on just under 100, ________________________________________ if i dont see you in the mattress il see you in the spring |

It's what these cars usually run at. No need to change thermo. Fans will kick in around 100. Oil temp won't go above 90 unless there is a problem or you're giving it stick on a track.Changing the rad for a Nissens alloy unit will slightly reduce the running temp (although, not by much) and they won't corrode, unlike the rubbish rads Pug produced ________________________________________ Racing driver, fighter pilot, astronaut, compulsive liar. |

i was just reading through and my oil temp keeps going over 90 and sitting at more like hundred would this be the thermostat?________________________________________ ghost |

Our cars use an 83 degree thermostat so once warmed up the temperature shouldn't be below 80 really. I suspect you have a leaking thermostat, most likely due to the seal rotting. edit: The upper ranges of the temperatures you are seeing sound normal though  ________________________________________ Rich |
