Alrite all, i have finally got round to finding out why my car was stinking of fuel earlier, one of the pipes had a split in the engine bay.
Basically this has been going on for a few weeks and it has actually taken the paint off the cam cover.
The paint job has always looked crap so now is a good time to try to remove it all.
What would you guys recommend to strip the rest off? I dont really want to remove the cam cover as knowing me something will go wrong so i would have to be able to do it while its still fitted.
I have taken some pics as i was suprised as i have only done about 80 miles since noticing the smell.
EDIT: You are probably thinking use petrol, i was thinking is there anything a little safer to use?

:O how did you not notice that earlier? could have ended badly that. as for removing the cover its easy peasy and even a tard could do it. just take out the bolts ontop and lift it off with the rubber seal.

I dont think it will be an easy task without removing the cover from the car, once off will take minutes to sort aswell and its not that hard a few allen keys thats all.

Will get a much better finish too as you can prep it better.

try keep the seal intact though otherwise you will never seal it again, if it does split you will need a tube of sump sealant of some sort Smile
