well i sold my xsara vts and in its place i opted for a 2005 pug partner 1.9 straight diesel, that belonged to my mate!

it started off totally standard:

then i stuck in 306 leather half seats and then lowered it on V-Maxx coilovers and MIM Raffinos and got them polished by the polish guy from Bangor that a guy recommended me to.

there is a reason why its in project section. i took a look at adam_bs thread and got an itch for a V6....then with speaking to my mate (who is mad about conversions) about it, he mentioned a local breakers had a 406 V6 coupe complete. so i done a deal for the conversion Smile

so in time i will progress the thread!

Not a problem - give me a sbhout if you have any issues apart from wiring. The autodata V6 info is in my signature and is fairly easy to work out. I must get my speedo and PAS sensor working as that is probably the root of my current issue.

I have also been very tempted recently to break the rallye and do the same thing but to the car version. Smile

im not going to them lengths! I have a saxo vts turbo to finish and a renault 5 gt turbo raider to restore!

So want a quick and easy-ish conversion and have it as my daily, but smoke ctrs! Smile

also the guy i bought the van off, has a caddy vr6 and we pushed a mk2 focus RS up the motorway and it was definately trying as our other friend has one and we know how well they go. So if the partner could do something similar, i would be over the moon!

I'd fit some larger tyres at the very least there, the exhaust manifold/downpipes are very close even without lowering Smile

Was thinking the same but with a little bit of foolery you should get it running although would be cheaper and easier to buy an earlier specced van or convert the looms at least.

Bloody multiplexed wiring and bsi's

So because mine is the later van and then the v6 is from an earlier 406, its going to be a f*ck up?? Would it be handier for me to source a D9 or just mess about with what i have??

Easier to stick with the D8 and find an earlier van. At least the wiring will then be relatively simple to sort out on that - its been done before.

Its stuff like the clocks and fuel pump thats the problem. I guess that diesel uses a cable throttle and isn't fly by wire?

the straight diesel does yeah, the hdi uses a short cable to a remote throttle pot.

I think it could be possible to wire up a D9 into a multiplex van, but it'd be quite a task finding the right information, there would be some BSI reprogramming involved I believe.

My mate who is doing the wiring side of things wants to know is it possible to get the 406 brain unlocked and then bypass the immobiliser side of things with the partner loom. Im not changing looms or running gear. So its either work around it or sell the van!

running gear MUST change, there is no way to drop the engine in on the existing stuff.

custom shafts top and rear engine mount, modified subframe, whichever clutch mechanism takes your fancy.

also the engine loom much be changed, there's not a chance in hell you can run the V6 engine on a .9 N.A diesel loom Laugh my ass off

the immobiliser can be removed yes.

I meant im not going to go searching for an earlier partner loom or a d9 conversion as the d8 is sitting out of the car waiting to be collected!
