anyone know if there is a manual for rebuilding gti-6 gearboxes?

Not sure, but Miles of Pugracing did mine and did a top job if you get stuck!

See if you can get a Pug manual off Ebay or something, Failing that the older 205 Haynes manual give's you the 5 speed break down which isn;t allot different if your used to box's and which parts need to come off in order,
I now many people have tried and failed as you do need some special tools and a huge box of shims to rebuild them

Mainly a Good puller (Not anything like Halfords sell) and a press to re-assemble the bearing's onto the shafts, A vernier guage or something similar to measure the shim thickness to adjust accordinly
Plus the press tool's which can be made from old gearbox parts

excelent! im a toolmaker by trade so can make stuff like that at work. thanks for all the help.
