Hey fellas, quick question. I'm on the look out for some bike bodies to play around with, I know the R1 epw's are used a lot but does anyone know of any other bodies that are separate-able with an internal diameter of 40-44mm?

Been having a look around and it seems there's no real correlation between engine size and internal diameter when you be above 600cc, for example a Gixxer 750 one year seems to have a large bore than a Gixxer1 from another year Erm?

It's only a wee weekend project so any known bodies will do, I just need to be able to space them for the right centre to centre distance like in Yanni's thread Smile

personally i'd save abit more cash and go for a proper tb set (jenvey or the like). but if your going to go down the bike bodie route get a decent manifold for the job, colin satchell turns out some good ones Smile

also the lotus 45mm setup that colin and sandy do are very good, i was running these for a while before going up a size, cheaper than a jenvey set too. a second hand manifold and tb's can be picked up for circa 500

Nah money's tight due to the wee man so this'll be mainly for the noise, done over a couple of months in the shed when i'm in the bad books LOL

Quite fancy having a tinker with some mechanical things to keep me busy. I've read up on all the homemade threads and realise there's not much to gain doing it this way Smile

There is'n a huge power gain on any type of throttle body, there's no reason if fitted correctly that a bike body can't flow as much as a Jenvey or other type of body, it's just down to how good a job you do of manifolding them. The gains come from combining the swap with other mods, cams, pistons etc. But you should easily see ten to twenty hp out of a decent setup.

Looks liek this is on hold for a month or two, decided to pump the money into making the car tip top, MOT due in September and then probably being sold soon after.

New wing, bearings, rear beam refurb etc

I will do this one day though Smile
