When I have the AC on the fans will kick in at full speed when engine is idling no matter coolant temp i.e. they can kick in at 70, 80 or whatever, then while driving fans return to low speed operation...

Is this normal? When they kick in at full speed its pretty noisy from outside the car?

The thing is the AC has not been working for a while, got a new relay of eBay (the relay which evaporator temp sensor connects to behind glvoe box) so I cant really remember if it is supposed to operate the fans like that when AC is on.

Anyone?

(ph3, manual AC)

Both fans should run at half speed all the time the AC is on. Usually, this is enough so high speed does not come on.

Ok just noticed they also come on at full speed while driving Sad Its only 20C outside.

So th pattern is (approx) like this, low speed 1-2 minutes, full speed 1 minute and etc...

What am I looking at? Faulty Pressure Switch (pressostat)? How do I test it? I tried wiring pin 1+2 alone and high speed is not engaged? Then when I wire 3+4 high speed is on...

Everything works fine when ac is off... Then only low speed is engaged all the time...

Can I replace the switch without degassing the system?
