A bit more information would help your case here mate! How did the belt go? Just split in half, or start losing ribs? What belts are you using and what size? Is your engine standard? Have you moved ANYTHING that the belt runs past recently? Is the belt jumping on the pullys? ________________________________________ Long live the Sigma 6Team Phase 1 supercharged XBL ID: farmer uk1 |

Is a Rallye engine, Not sure it was replaced by Ricky P a forthnight ago when he replaced the head. Is completely standard apart from some aftermarket Cams (Piper fast road AFAIK)Its loses ribs and halfs in size, Its also moved across now so that 2 or 3 ribs are over the edge of the power steering pulley on the inside. All i can tell you, Have been surgested the pulleys need replacing? |

I doubt it will be a case of just buying a new one and changing it; if something is out of line then you need to line it up!My car does the same thing with belts, throws one about every 1500 miles now as something isn't quite lined up properly. Its a bugger to get it all lined up straight, but that will be your problem. The belt is getting pulled over to one side somewhere and the edge of the PAS pully or alternater pully will be slicing the last rib of the belt off. As this frays, it in turn starts to rip the next rib off. Seeing as you have had the head off, I would say its the cam pulleys most likly, too close in to the head if its pulling the belt towards the engine. ________________________________________ Long live the Sigma 6Team Phase 1 supercharged XBL ID: farmer uk1 |

Haha well ill have to check the pulleys see if they need replacing, and the alignment for the PAS pump as it seems to be on that it skips over to the right afew grooves (when looking from the front) |

It will be one of 3 pullys tugging it over; PAS, alternator, or crank pully. They are the only 3 that are ribbed on a rallye (unless you have a rare rallye with a/c in which case, there will also be the a/c pump) Off the top of my head I cant remember if you would need to remove the PAS or alternator to get the head off. ________________________________________ Long live the Sigma 6Team Phase 1 supercharged XBL ID: farmer uk1 |

Well this engine is dead again, Turns out teh bottom bolt on the AUX cover has snapped so the AUX belt has rubbed thought the camcover and tangled nicely over the bottom 2 pulleys and waterpump, Conked out today just down the street.Had enought only had that head on for 2 weeks |

I will have a word ye but it did the same thing with the AUX belt before he even worked on it so my bet is something was out of line with the before. and i noticed today when i took the Camcover off the bottom pulley has alot of play so my guess is it was on its last legs anyway but i overlooked replacing it |
