Hi to you all. I,m a newbie here and this is my first post, so I hope you can help.
My 306gti heater control has stopped working completely (no power) and the a/c light does not come on. Any takers please.

IIRC look at your fuse box under the steering wheel and the problem may lie with one of the green square relays, give them a wiggle/pull out and clean. they are sort of top left as you look up.

I had this problem and a pull out (LoL) and clean sorted it all out.

mine was the unit itself as a diode blows in the control panel. a £30 second hand one fixed the problem for me. if you replace the fust near the steering column and it blows it you will find its either the relay or the control panel. bit hit and miss though.

Pulled the top left relay and guess what, all burnt and black. Changed the relay and hey presto. Yippee

same here mate i just pulled mine out and put it back in and it worked weird
