I've got some 36mm bike carbs from a cbr600, I have read on here that 40mm bodies are about ideal for a standard engine, i was just wondering whether these carbs i have would be any good at all if i knocked up an inlet manifold similar to that of yani's with his R1 bodies?

Eventually i want to go down the LBSC route but just thought i would check about doing this temporarily since i have the carbs and the costs should be fairly reasonable. Its mainly the noise i'm after

Yeah i've got the bodies, and a cut down manifold, but still havent got round to making a flange to join them together. I was going to combine them with something else i've got lined up but don't have the time or money to make any progress on them at the moment.
