the B1 is the 5 speed. its got a short 1st 2nd 3rd with a long 4th and 5th bin told the acceleration is ALOT better and top end will b good for over 140mph. the box i brought comes with a quife atb diff. the only problem is you have to chop n change reverse gear.

just need to no if its as good as they say.......

What a load of *******, A BE1 gearbox is no better or worse than any other, the Ratio's you have been told again is rubbish as 3 & 4 share the same gear cluster unless a C/R box,
It sounds like a 205 1.6 GTi maybe with a Mi16 5th which will be a huge jump,
Top speed won;t be anywhere near that if it's good on Acceleration

I would,
But depending on use the 1.6 or 1.9 box with a 4.4 CWP gives a cheap upgrade for track work, not much use on the road thou
I'd be rich if everytime I;ve been told it's a .... was true

Unless you've got a raised rev limit i'd stick with a xsara 5 speed personally, using the xsara rack and PAS ram. You'll run out revs and its a pain in the arse on the road. The xsara box is a tad lighter and a tad stronger than the 6 box.
