i have a 306 1.4 petrol, the crown and pinion are growling, does anyone know if diesel models use different trans? know someone whos wrote off his diesel 306 which is due for the scrap and with me being able to get the gearbox for nout was wondering if a diesel tran would go on my petrol. I know the ratios will be different but the haynes manual says there are 2 types of trans on 306's 1.1 1.4 and 1.6 use the MA type trans and the 1.8 and higher use BE3 type says nothing about different types for different fuels
