for reliability (and cost) i'd be sticking to 136.

GSF do the 136t kits fior £48.50 + vat.

that and water pump from them too will do the trick, pump comes with a gasket.

Ok, I need to buy a cambelt kit asap, on most threads people are recommending the 136 due to the metal fixed tensioners, but on the FAQ Rich_W recommends getting the 137, can anyone shed any light on this?

Also, am I right in saying that I would require something extra if the one I have on is a 137 and the one I replace with is a 136? as I vaguely remember reading something about it needing a stud or something to bolt the tensioner to? (I can't remember where I read it though!)Doh

As mine is phase 2 (rallye) am I probably right in assuming mine will have been fitted with the 136? and is there a very easy way of telling this, as I'm being helped by a mate to change this next week and need to buy one asap!

Sorry to inundate y'all with so many questions, but I've not attempted this before and need to make sure I have everything I need so my more knowledgeable mate can help me out!
Cheers in advance! Thumbs up

Ahh, nice one Thumbs up

I can't find the 136 cambelt/tensioner kit on GSF anyone know the part number? The water pump I need is presumably GSF Part Number: 170PC0160?

My only concern is that I buy the 136 only to find the one I'm replacing is the 137 and I need something else to make it work?

Any advice would be really appreciated!!

you'd need the stud for the tensioner to sit on, they are £3 odd from peugeot, possibly the M8 bolt that secures the tensioner too.

not sure ont he GSF part number but just tell them youre after a 136t kit that costs about £48.50 and they'll get the right one.

Thanks welshpug Thumbs up

So if it does turn out I need these studs etc they'll know what I'm on about if I just go in and ask for the studs that you need to change from a 137 kit to a 136.
Fingers crossed its just the 136 I already have on it.

IIRC the J4R engine never used the 137 kit, so ask for the stud for the earlier RS or all the J4R engines.
