Aye i guess. Bit gutting tbh, wanted a change and Millteks sound lurvely imo. Had the Magnex fitted to the car the whole time i'va had it and it's a bit boomy for my liking, especially with the wee man in tow now.________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

teaboy if I don't get any offers in a decent timescale i'll just butcher it. Makes me feel all manly doing stuff like that followed by a cuppa.Rich/Mei, the decat is a straight through jobby, one centre silencer that's actually almost as big as the back box. Seems to hang down quite low too. If I get the blows sorted though.. would that mean more or less flames? It's doing it now, i kinda like it I'm such a child haha ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

Hooray! Sold the Milltek for £90, a nice £30 quid profit. Silver lining ay? Only downside was I had to sign up to 206info My new tyres arrived today too Tomorrow I start the "who can balance cyclones" carousel. You never know, could get lucky first time but I highly doubt it.. Oh and got a second layer of HD wax on just in time for the heavens to open. Was going to apply a third but time wouldn't allow. Instead, thanks to the downpour I got some epic beadage. Then I drove to Dunfermline through a thunderstorm and the car's f*cking boggin' again. Meh. Sorting the blowing Magnex tomorrow too, as seems to be a common problem the centre box is blowing. I know a place that can do it for £15 though so all's good. I like my car again now ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

No offence mate but i'm never using cooper's again..Kev first of all told me I categorically can't get Rainsport's in that size, in his own words "i have 50 uniroyals out back and i guarantee they don't come in that size, the website must be lying" and when I presented them with the tyres that didn't exist they wanted £80 to fit and balance them ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

Can't think of anywhere else that balances centreless wheels locally. Think Kwik-Fit in Falkirk do if you fancy a trek PM sent. ________________________________________ '98 Nile Blue 306 GTi 6 |

Hey fellas, just throught i'd throw up some progress of my first ever boot build. At the minute I have a Fusion sub/amp combo in a mahoosive ported box, i'm no audiophile so for £40 second hand I figured I couldn't go wrong. Thing is after fitting the box I noticed the pram barely fits in the boot now, so i wanted to make something that would be tidier and also storage space for essential Peugeot tools like a socket set and torx bits I saw Carl and Bininoz had a boot install by a company called Plush that had a false floor and the sub tucked away to the side. Didn't fancy spending £££ as money's already tight so a quick trip to B&Q and some tools borrowed off a joiner mate left me with this so far. Measured up the floor by tracing the boot carpet which, by the way, is suitably boggin'. Accoustic carpet for the false floor ftw. Peep hole for the amp, to be filled with a sheet of perspex if it ever gets delivered Floor cut, trial fitted and trimmed Note how the floor doesn't cover the entire boot, i wanted a floor I could easily remove without having to move the sub box in case i needed spare wheel access etc, the sub box will be recessed and sit on the actual boot floor instead. Amazing what you find as sound deadening these days, apparently Space Raiders are a good substitute for glass fibre For the new enclosure I wanted a much tighter bass sound and a smaller box so went for a sealed enclosure, the size of the box was one of the main reasons I wanted to do this install anyway. Started knocking the box up Speaker trial fitted, top of the enclosure starting to take shape, and light disappearing quickly. Oh in the last couple of pics the floor's sitting too high because it's on top of some tools, it won't be sitting above the line of the speaker once the crap's cleared out of the car. 5 hours down, another couple to go, but the box is now sealed just waiting for the sealant to cure. After that just a bit of sanding and laying the accoustic carpet, then job done. C&C welcome, not bad for a first attempt imo. ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

Pics of everything all carpeted and fitted, just need to add the perspex screen over the amp (if it ever bloody arrives...)I can definitely hear the difference in bass response now too, turned up the bass on the HU equalizer and it's much punchier, ideal for metal/industrial, as opposed to the ported box which sounded chavvy and flappy at any level. Nice snug fitment but still leaves room to get at the rear light cluster if need be. Quite smug with myself tbh ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

Just in case anyone's interested in rattle can painting, the clear coat you use makes a MASSIVE difference to the final finish. I was spraying a spoiler myself and assumed the Halfords clear coat would be acceptable. Here's how that turned outThe clear coat peeled when polishing, wasn't even using anything that abrasive just SRP. Sanded it all back to the plastic and touched up with filler primer, then resrayed colour and clear coats, using U-Pol #1 clear this time. Twice the price of the Halfords stuff but look at the difference in reflections My lesson for today? If you're painting anything, never ever use Halfords stuff. Like ever. We all stay away from there at the best of times but people are too quick to assume it's their best option when colour coding/spraying etc. Their colours, even when colour matched, are shockingly bad and the clear coat would be more use as dog food than for painting. A few gratuitous clean pics too, why the hell not? The spoiler's the new addition and i know opinions will be divided but, after all, you're all entitled to them ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

Did you take them off and spray them as that will ruin the glue? Or buy new then spray and fit them? ________________________________________ Phase 2 Blaze GTi 6 (Standard) SoldPhase 3 Supercharged China GTi 6 (249.8 BHP) Sold Phase 3 Supercharged Diablo GTi 6 (443 BHP)Sold Nissan 350Z (300 BHP) |
