Hi was wondering if anyone could identify the problem, i have a 306 gti 6 phaze 1 the reverse gear grinds sometimes and recently 2nd has done it a few times,

Also is the cable clutch adjustable?

the clutch cable is self adjusting annoyingly.

are you using pug gearbox oil? its the best stuff to use.

could be worn syncro, shagged clutch cable.

id try oil first then cable Yes both cheap

When i brought the car 2 months ago or so the bloke had giv it a service wiv new cable and gear box oil but i think il have a go at draining it and using a pug oil

If you dont put the right oil in the box they get f*cked fast whre is the grinding coming form the bell housing at the back of the box mate ?

Im not sure i can just feel it grind when changing, i got the car from a mechanic so the gearbox oil he put in should be ok?

Prefered oil is Total 75w80. For some reason most other oil causes crunching in gears. I don't think it would be a syncro as they tend to be very hard wearing, unless it's had the tit's utterly shagged off of it LOL

i work at citroen dealer we use esso 75/80 think pug/citroen have changed it now but its still surprisingly cheap at a dealer lol
