Posting this on behalf of my dad who is having a bit of trouble with his power steering on the 6.

He told me for a few weeks now he has heard a clicking noise whilst turning, id never heard it and just dismissed it as CV joint/driveshaft etc...

However today (unsure of whether the above problem is linked ) whilst doing a turn in the road, the steering all of a sudden became heavy and when looking underneath red PAS fluid was p*ssing out, sort of centralish of the underneathLOL

Anyone have any ideas of what this could be?

Split pipe?...Oo could be a joint to the pump come loose?

Split pipe, pump joint or the ram seal has gone. Mostly likely the ram. The pump is lubricated by the fluid so don't use it too much without any fluid in.

Had a closer inspection on this and a torx bolt from the actual ram was hanging out so could have sheared off inside , the hole where the torx bolt went in wasnt lining up with the other part..
EDIT: Same symptoms as my dads:
