Bloody cap, must admit the rad was the first thing i thought of yesterday after seeing coolant pi$$ing out from the underside and i didn`t have time to check properly. So finally today after getting home nice and early i checked the level and although a tad low there was still half left which seemed a bit odd. So topped it up and started her up, left for 10 minutes or so, came back and lo and behold water on the floor again. Not a drop coming from the rad itself, but plenty coming from the cap. I`ll check later once she`s cooled down to see whether the seal has gone on the cap or it`s the top of the plastic part of rad, would of thought it`s the cap myself as i would imagine the rubber can perish after a while, fingers crossed it`s easy and that`ll save me 130 quid minimum for my holiday.

I hope it is just the cap is knackard and not something more serious.

The cap might be doing it's job and releasing at a certain pressure. Are your fans kicking in?

Turns out just below the cap the plastic neck has blown a small hole, looks like a manufacturing fault. Sent the lad down to Halfords to pick up some araldite, failing that superglue will have to do just so it can idle long enough at the MOT to do the emissions.

Fingers crossed for ya! Worse case you could always pull the lead off the brown sensor on the thermostat housing. It will bring the fans on full to keep the coolant temp down and maybe stop it overflowing. Just a thought.
