A rebuild is expensive, time consuming and unless you throw in a few G's of uprated bits the performance will be disappointing, especially if you are making the jump to a 6 later in the year, keep it, and save your pennies for upgrades to the 6. As has been said before, if you want a fast car, start with one thats quick in the first place Smile

Still not worth doing, even at cost. Sounds like it does'nt need it anyway, healty power, no smoke, no tapping, no reason to rebuild, unless you just like working lol

If you have to do the HG then yes a skim is a good idea.

leave it alone mate its much more work, time and effort than you think. Its not something you can just 'have a go' at if you ever want it to run again. Learn at college and then do the work once you know what your doing

Most likely head gasket yes, but if you don't know that yet though it's best to wait till you get on your mechanics course until you start pulling it apart. If your smart, you will offer the college your car to use as a learning excercise and that way you'd get expert guidance and help fixing your motor for next to nowt.

The white stuff is usually oil and water mixing, due to head gasket leaking, not cause to re-build the whole engine tho, and it may only be a very slight amount that may not affect the use of the engine in the early stages, like daveyboy said its not a job you should attempt if you dont already have knowledge of working on engines, take it with you to college and get it sorted that way i'd say. Thumbs up
