white gunk normally means you've got water in there and your head gaskets gone. hope not for your sake but that's what the out come is most of the time. |

It is moisture in the oil. Does it do mostly short journeys? One of my old 306s (8v XU) used to gunk up on short journeys but if you took it for a longer run it would clear.________________________________________ You feed beefburgers to swans. Check the water/oil heat exchanger behind the oil filter and do a check of the water for combustion gasses before condemning the head gasket.EDIT: I didn't see that it wasn't a 6. In that case probably the head gasket. ________________________________________ S Reg Diablo standardsSpec SORNEDR Reg Nile standard spec written off then repaired X Reg Astor in need of TLC R Reg Nile to restore Set of Lions to fit. |

If it doesn't clear after a good run then you probably have coolant contaminating the oil. Probably head gasket failure in that case.Don't think the 8v xsi has an oil heat exchanger so can't be that. ________________________________________ You feed beefburgers to swans.
