Hey guys, im new to this forum but i have noticed alot of talk about 16mm and 18mm ball joints. But another thing i have noticed is that on the peugeot parts site the hubs themselves are exactly the same part number regardless of the ball joints used (the only exception being the 1.4), so surely either ball joint can be used; its just a matter of spreading the gap into which the ball joint pin slides. Afterall, it would only be 1mm of extra spread for each side of the pinch bolt?________________________________________ I drive a Peugeot, yet i always recommend a Honda? |

I wouldn't risk that tbh, i did something similar with mine and it's ovalled the hole on the hub, can't get it round again so there's a lot of play in it leading to some dodgy steering.Should definitely look to get the right sized ball joint rather than trying to pikey things. ________________________________________ Bye bye Sundance Kid |

Well, now i know! I wasnt belittling the(extensive) knowledge of this forum, just clarifying. Just seemed odd that all hubs were the same part! Maybe ill try it on some junk hubs and see how get on before attacking my own!________________________________________ I drive a Peugeot, yet i always recommend a Honda? |

The hubs are different and you need to use the correct size ball joint.Hub part numbers: 16mm Left - 3646 53 Right - 3647 53 18mm Left - 3646 54 Right - 3647 54 ________________________________________ Rich |

It appears i have made an error, upon checking servicebox there are instances in which a 16mm balljoint appears with the later hubs. However, in a small note "See A", it does mention that it is in fact the 18mm joint that is required. Cheers for clearing that up guys.________________________________________ I drive a Peugeot, yet i always recommend a Honda? |
