Right , the situation is this.

I fitted a new clutch cable and the bite is now right at the top , its not riding but theres no slack in the cable at all.

The auto adjuster... does it make the cable longer as the clutch wears out ? if so how do i force it to get a little longer , or reset it etc..

Can i just unplug it from the box end and pull some through somehow ?

Clutch wear is fine, got plenty of life in it yet so its got to be cable related, i always thought the cable got shorter as it adjusted but im starting to get confuffled.

Cheers

Ok , to add a little more to this to try and help people out in the future..

The longer the outside of the cable gets, the shorter the effective inside length i.e as the autoadjuster expands it will take up more and more slack in the release fork.

My problem seems to be its taken up too much slack.

First point of call now is get under the car and see if it has ratcheted right out. If it has i need to either find a way of returning some of it , or i have an idea to trim the rubber end bung down a touch to give me a few more mm, the clutch doesnt ride so i just want it so the release bearing doesnt get putter under constant stress.

Will update later with more findings.
