Afternoon all,

I've had a quick search but haven't found the exact information I require. People talk about cutting the wires off the brake pads but what I want to know is if it's safe to cut the wire completely off the car? Will this make the warning light come on on the dash?

I obviously don't use them anymore because I've converted my brakes with Ash's 330mm kit.

If I just cut the wire right back to where it comes out from behind the wheel arch liner and tape up the end will that be ok? Or do I need to unplug the other end? Has anyone got a picture of where the other end plugs into?

I tried to trace where the wires went but they seem to go into the wing somewhere, I can't see any obvious plugs in the engine bay anywhere.

Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thumbs up

THE LIGHT ONLY COMES ON WHEN THE CIRCUIT IS MADE THROUGH THE DISC TO THE OTHER PAD, SO CUTTING THE WIRE WILL LEAVE THE LIGHT OFF

So, am I right in saying that nothing will happen if I cut the wire right back where it comes out from the wheel arch liner, and remove the plug from the hub the light will not come on?

I just want to make sure before I do it.

Thats fine, as said the light only comes on when the circuit is complete.

If the wires touch then the light will come on so put a bit of tape round each one if you want to.

Nice one, I was going to tape them up after cutting them. Yes

Just wanted to make sure I had it right before cutting anything.

Is there any chance at all that you may want to return the car to standard in the future?

If so, don't cut the wire. I doubt it's harming anything where it is.

To be honest alot of people seem to cut these anyway as alot of them are f*cked in the first place. This isnt always the case though.
