The car's finally lowered Smile

Had a nightmare though, on Saturday i tried to replace the O/S driveshaft, but the intermediate bearing had seized into the lower engine mount. That meant removing half the subframe to get it out and then bashing it with a hammer.. which took a while.

The remaining light on day one meant i had just enough time to fit the shock and spring and underseal the O/S suspension bits and bobs, then.. covered in grease with bits of rust in my hair.. bed time.

Early start Sunday, finished off rebuilding the strut and refitting the brakes, TRE and new drop link. Spent ages wondering how the f*ck to tighten up the drop link bolts before realising they were allen headed to hold the bolt still Doh

Next came the N/S strut, the top bolt had seized though and i needed it for the new shock, so out came the angle grinder, clamp vice and hammer to violate the original spring so i could get the strut and a vice and tease off the nut. I didn't know there was an angle grinder in the shed until after about 2 hours of junior hacksawing and cursing, when my girlfriend's dad came out and went "here, use the right tool dumbass"

So yeah that came off, built the new strut and realised once it was all assembled on the car that i'd missed the middle washer out between the cup and top mount, so off it came AGAIN.

Finally got that back on, finished off undersealing the bouncy bits and subframe, refitted the brakes and popped the wheels back on. Should have hammerited the calipers red or something while i was down there but i didnt buy any before i jacked the car up Doh

Then onto the back end.. i turned chicken shit looking at the rust so i swapped in the new shocks and passed it to a garage to lower it Laugh my ass off

I'd been in the p*ssing rain for 2 days doing the fronts, i'd had enough. Anyway enough rambling, pics as requested by jimmyrallye the lowering slag LOL

(PS yes it's filthy.. do one Flip)

Hmm

Back height looks ok, but the front is a bit too low for my liking. But Thumbs up for doing it yourself! (well half of it Razz)
