Hey Guys

Just came back from a spin with the mrs. on a 100 mile trip!

The speedo stopped working and comes back intermittently and when i stopped i got a whiff of gear oil! Also when i turned into my street i noticed when accelerating gently in 1st and 2nd from idle revs it felt like there was resistance in the transmission which freed up as the speed picked up!!

Anyone have any idea's as to what this might be?? I won't know any more details for a day or two as i'll be using the van and workin flat out

Cheers

Leigh

Yeah gonna check the VSS Sensor when I've got some time, been thinking things over in my head and I think that the leaking oil may be caused by being overfilled with oil even though I have done about 600 miles since I changed the gear oil Saturday nite was the first spin that was longer than 20 miles! Took the car up the road earlier and I have a clouded mind now as I'm a little paranoid about the gearbox as when i said it felt like there was resistance in the transmission somewhere it may be the engine bogging slightly and it did cut out randomly when i dipped the clutch at a junction which it has never done before!

I replaced my speedo sensor at the weekend which has resolved all the bogging down issues i was having at low revs. I'd guess the oil leak has come from the expansion wotsit after you've given it a good hiding.
