Afternoon,

I've been having some issues starting around a week ago where when i start the car, it would cut straight out, and would take a couple of times before it would start without this and then it would be fine.

It then started getting progressivly worse until the point on Thursday where it would do the old trick of cutting out when ever the clutch was dipped unless i kept the revs up.

I've cleaned the ICV with some WD40 and replaced the breather filter as it was looking a bit worse for wear.

Searching on here, a few mentions of MAP sensor get thrown in, but mines not having a hunting issue. Am i just resigned to the fact that the ICV is shot?

And if so, does

I paid less than that from Euro Car Parts for a genuine Magneti Marelli one.

I'll see if I can find the part number.

It will more than likely be the idle control valve, did you do all I said earlier andits made no change?

Yep, took it off, cleaned the housing and the probe (albeit with WD40 as thats all i have and other posts on here say that should work fine) but still no better, it struggles to start - i have to give it some throttle to get it fired up - and if i let the throttle go it just cuts straight out.

People on my street must be thinking im really p*ssed off or something as i have to give it some revs so i have enough time to pull away and change gear LOL

AH HA!

Ok, so i went out just now to see if i could clean the MAP sensor, upluged it, not much to clean up so wiped it and put it back in. Also done an ECU reset.

Started it backup after reconnecting the battery and still the same. Balls.

Anyhow, i sit there for a min thinking if i can try anything else and then it comes in to my mind, its cutting out as the rev's are dropping to low. So why not see if moving the pin on the throttle cable will help? Move it up one notch and bang, it starts and sits happily on idle (albeit at 1250rpm!)

Let it warm up as per ECU reset and take it for a blast - HOLY FAP, that extra notch on the throttle cable certinatly makes it seem more responsive on the off!

It's back to working fine again now, however if i move the pin back down to the next notch, it's cuts out as it struggles. Any guesses as to why? The TPS seems to be working, and it idles smoothly when set into the new position so im stummped Confused

At least i can drive it again now i suppose Big grin
