i only seem to get this problem once every few months when i'm changing down a gear (usually lower gears) when i dip the clutch an take it out of gear the car will stall but if i get it into the lower gear an lift the clutch again the car kicks back into life anyone any ideas what the problem might be? |

Is this not effectively just bump starting it? If it's just stalled you'll still have the ignition on: so the car's ready to start. Then bringing the clutch pedal up (in second for example) cranks the engine just like the starter motor, then it fires. |

The issue of stalling when dipping the clutch would seem to be the quintessential problem that a lot of our cars suffer, no? Therefore, the obligatory stepper motor investigation would seem to be a good course of action to take. |

isnt it weird it only happens whe changing down gears though not up or stationary |
