Fitted a new Rich W ali crank pulley today, and when i looked at the old pulley/damper, it had the pattern of the gear behind it. Is this machined in to provide a recess or had it been rubbing everso slightly. In theory, if the key was worn the pully would move on it. There was no damage to cambelt etc, so just wondering if anyone knows what i'm on about.

Cheers

iirc the hub of the pulley is alloy )or at least a softer material than the sprocket)
