Seized cable or is it at the end of it's life? Would a regrease do the trick?

The cable started making a squeaking noise when I depress the pedal. The clutch pedal also has a stepping motion to it rather than a fluid one. It was like it when I got the car and hasn't got worse and doesn't effect gear changes, there is no crunching, etc, just a bit annoying getting the biting point smoothly.Seized cable or is it at the end of it's life? Would a regrease do the trick? ________________________________________ Racing driver, fighter pilot, astronaut, compulsive liar. |

Where exactly do I spray? I can obviously see part of the cable in the engine bay but that's about it. It seems to be a sealed cable anyway. Should I just blast it all over with spray grease and then spray up into the clutch pedal from inside the car?I am thinking of getting it changed anyway next month as it's the original and I've just gone past 70k. Not loads of miles but probably enough to warrant a fresh cable. ________________________________________ Racing driver, fighter pilot, astronaut, compulsive liar. |

I just sprayed under the pedals in the car with WD40, worked for a week or so lol..Obviously dont spray on the faces of the pedals themselfs tho, you dont want to be doing the irish river dance whils't trying to change gear. ________________________________________ EX Bianca 6 owner,Now drives: Octavia vRS |

I just sprayed the pedal and the length of cable that I can see/reach in the engine bay. Made no difference so looks like I will bang a new one in there soon.________________________________________ Racing driver, fighter pilot, astronaut, compulsive liar. |
