hi can any one help,
i done a compression text on my s16 and the readings are as follows,
closest to cam belt first- 162 psi, 127 psi, 145 psi, 147 psi.
can anyone tell me is that ok if not what should it be around?

Very low, They should all be ready within 5% of each other not 20

Could be valves or ring's, Need to carry out a leak down test, this will show you what it is.

Drop a few drops of oil down each bore and re do the test
if the result becomes higher and more even then it points to worn bores/pistons

The throttle is open or closed when you are testing it?

What mileage is the engine and what made you want to comp test it?

i had the throttle open when i did it, the mileage is 130,000,
i just wanted to see what compression my car was at.

it does'nt smoke when im driving only smokes a little on cold start, does'nt seem to be drinking oil, done head gasket at 114,000 (head gasket did'nt go just wanted to do it incase it did), when did the head gasket had a dear little bit/if not none of movement in the pistons,

was goin to do the drip test this saturday and see what happens then =/
