i'm in the process of lowering the rear of my car, i've lowered one side without any problems but when tryin to pull driver side bar out it wont budge. its a reconditioned axle so i would have thought it should be greased up? do i have to screw the thread out on the fixed side of the bar?cheers ________________________________________ dooby |

yes thats off. it must just be seized then, I'm just using a homemade puller made from a bolt, socket and a few washers. think i might need to get a sliding hammer. ________________________________________ dooby |

hi if you have taken every thing off ie: 2 x 13mm bolts that hold the arb in place 4x nuts on end of the torrsion bars they should come out.try this way from start: undo the 2x 13mm bolts on either end of the arb. then there will be a little plastic cap with a 40 torx screw head take that out both sides.then wind in a well greased up 19mm bolt into the end of the arb (where the plastic cap was). that will then push the arb out for you. then when you have taken that out you can see a further 2 40 torx bolts (1 either side) in the radius arm.they are your torrsion bar nuts. there is a further 2 bolts that are up under the radius arm (quite tricky to get to). when you have taken all of them off you will need to take off the bolts on the brake flexi brackets that hold the brake flexi pipes in place (2x 13mm bolts). also you will have to take off the bottom shock absorber bolts either side and slide the shocks up out the way. you may also have to disconnet your abs sensors aswell. after all that is done you should then be able to knock the whole radius arm out with the torrsion bar attached. before knocking the radius arms out you should measure from the top of the center cap on the hub to the wheel arch to get the measure ments for standard ride hight. you can then knock the radius arm out and move it to where you want it and work out the height on the measurements from the hub cap to arch. this is how i do it anyway and ive never had any problems with getting the torsion bars out. and the beams always sit perfectly level. hope this helps. thanks richard. ________________________________________ Pugplus Peugeot parts specialists!!1000`s & 1000`s of new & used parts in stock International shipment Genuine Peugeot parts suppliers A range of Peugeot's for sale Contact info: Mob:07532066648 (richard) Email: pugplus@hotmail.com |

p*ssing in the wind, if they are seized you wont get them out with any sort of puller i can assure you. Your best bet is to porta power the arm off the car then hydraulicly press the bar out of the arm. Hitting the arm to release a seized bar will very often not work and will damage arm |

yep, you need more brute force basically, though if you dont intend on replacing the bearings I wouldnt take the trailing arms out.FAQ ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

dont realy want to take trailing arms out to be honest. It's a refurbed beam and everything is greased up or so i was told, the passenger side was a piece of p*ss to do. i dont think my puller has enough force to pull it out. I'm hoping a sliding hammer will pull it fingers crossed ________________________________________ dooby |

Just because it's reconditioned (Bad word this) doesn;t mean anything I'm afraid, I;ve re-built beams from various companies (No names) which have been done just to make ________________________________________ 306 Rallye Sptint/Race Car, 205 CTI 1.9 8v to name a fewRoad, Track and Race/Rally car preparation to your personal requirements, Full Workshop & Diagnostic Facilities New and Second parts, from Plugs to Turbo's We now also carry out Routine Servicing www.pugracing.com & FB Page, https://www.facebook.com/PugRacing Ebay; http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Pug-Racing-Shop 2012/2013/2014/2019 Class Winners at Gurston Down Speed Hillclimb & Joint overall, Class record too along the way, |

the reason i'm lowering it is because i ordered it from pugcit and when ordering i asked for it to be lowered 40mm, but once i had fitted the new beam it looked like it hade been raised 40mm rather than lowered. it looks like its 40mm higher than standard ride height. but my thoughts were that they must of had the torsion bars out to raise it up, so i thought they would have cleaned and greased them up? like i said the passenger side was a doddle.________________________________________ dooby |
