welshpug! wrote: Thanks for that, very clever link thing! To clarify from limited knowledge of these engines, if this rubber bond on this crankshaft pulley does deteriorate and the pulley 'slips' it cant pull the crankshaft out of time can it? Just pull the timing mark out of alignment making it a PIA or impossible to re-time. I gather the outer part of the pulley is this 'harmonic balancer' ? Clever! Is the french crank abit prone to breaking then? or has in previous evolutions of this engine? ________________________________________ Team Evo, because they're the tits. |

yep you're spot on there, it wont actually place the timing out, but if its used to check or set the timing it will be incorrect if its damaged.total failures of the pulley on this engine is not known of though they do have this issue of slipping round, its very common for a similar item on the HDI engines to collapse and take the timing belt out I dont think its an issue to have a solid alloy item on there, but they do use them to iron out any harsh frequencies that might cause issues. Rich Walker (guy who started this Rotrex GTI6 Revolution) does alloy solid billet replacements which eliminate this problem (they're also nice and bling and a lot lighter) ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

Not really looking forward to this but needs must, i imagine Zacs crank pulley would of been new with the engine so shouldnt be buggered... He says! Thanks for the help guys! ________________________________________ Team Evo, because they're the tits. |

Well I did the coilpacks a few nights ago, and only checked the plug on cylinder number 2 as it was midnight and absolutely p*ssing it down...made the mrs hold an umbrella for me. ________________________________________ Hit the limiter in 6th gear at 169mph (GPS - TomTom on the German autobahn).
