jesus, never seen a block that bad before, has the engine been severely cooked by any chance? i had a similar (but not as bad) problem with a 1.9dt where one of the head bolts wouldn't budge, when i did manage to get it out i noticed a crack on the outside of the block |

I think the heater matrix has a crack in it and is leaking water plus the wires that connect to water level sensor had broken off!!! so I hadnt noticed the water was very low. The engine was still running fine. It wasnt until the next day by chance I thought i'd just check the car over fluids etc I unscrewed the water bottle and there was like chocolate milkshake in there BLUB. I filled it with water after flushing it through a couple of times and ran the engine for a couple of minutes and it seemed fine water was running clear, I checked the oil and that was low so I topped the oil up and WOLAA instant chocolate milkshake Wonder why it only started to mix when I topped it up tho and why water wasnt getting in the oil something to do with pressure? |

As above i didn't think the 6 had one as you have the header tank in the rad whereas my HDI has low coolant level sensor built into the (separate) header tank. That there be goosed my friend. ________________________________________ I'm Si btw![]() Night Blue VW Golf GTD Bianca LBSC Rallye - Track/Road Slag Project Thread Sparkling Silver Mini Cooper D - Super Dooper - (The other half's wheels) |

Building up a block is pretty easy, I have a complets set of standard pistons and rods if its of any interest? They came out of a 66k miler, very good condition.________________________________________ R H Davey Welding Supplies. I sell new and used welding equipment in the Hampshire area.
