My backup plan was to try and find some 3/8-24UTP for 3/16 pipe, however my google'ing skills have left me and I can't find any.
The ones in your link are 7/16UNF - are these the same size? (I'm not very good with imperial stuff)

no they are not the same size, i was half asleep, but like welsh pug said give them a ring. if not most motor factors should stock the 3/16 pipe unions with those threads.
