Hi guys,

Trying to work out what the damn woooring sound is! It only happening when engine breaking or reducing speed....

When trying to work out where the woooring sound is coming from it sounds like its from the front passenger side near the air vents/front of car roughly - or my other guess was maybe a woooooring sound from underneath, exhaust, gearbox, clutch? I'm lost with this to be honest!

Any help would be great!

Cheers,

Ant

i could well be wrong mate, but i have similar problem (and on some of my other 306's) and i think it may be coming from the gearbox, mine does it mostly in 3rd gear at low speeds. Don't take this for granted, but thought my opinion might help

Just been out in it again and its only making the woooring noise from 40mph below.

Yeah and the sound is at low speed when engine/gear breaking

Could it be a wheel bearing?

could be a bearing, very easy to check for play, jack either side up, grab the wheel at 12 & 6 o clock and feel for any signs of movement.
if the bearing was to blame then surely you car would 'pull' to one side
