Hi chaps, my rain sensor didn't work in my runaround so I took the mirror unit off and looks like it's had a new windscreen in the past and the numpty hadn't put the gel pads on properly (still had the red backing on) I can't get the backing off so can you buy the pads from anywhere??Thanks for any info Rik |

I'm not sure if you can buy the 2 little pads separately (if you can then they're probably cheap and the easiest option) but I had the same issue with a replaced RAC windscreen; I just used Araldite and it's worked perfectly for well over a year now... Hope that helps. Edit: assuming you mean the pads that hold the 2 metal bars onto the glass, as this is what caused the problem with mine! |

sort of bumping this..took my rear view mirror / rain sensor housing off, and all i can see that holds it to the window is one metal bracket which clicks to a metal tab in the centre of the rain sensor area. are some missing or is that right? feels loose at the back edge now (towards the front of the car). might just bond it all to the window ________________________________________ 306 rallye reproduction decals (full sets/individual decals) | 306 b-pillar textured vinyl weatherstrips306 slam panel esso stickers | 306 yellow / orange / pension fund red side door badges gti6 inlet manifold badges | 306 rear boot badges (p2/p3) winner of Extraction of toys from prams with outstanding vigour award 2009 [source: gti6 owners club] |
