hello i tryed a seach and couldnt find what i wanted. how do you lock the crank shaft in place to remove cam belt?

8mm pin through bottom pulley.

i think you can also block it via the flywheel if you are removing the crank pulley.

Yeah, the correct Peugeot procedure includes locking the flywheel at the top of the gearbox but this requires a special tool so most people just use the locking point on the pulley. Once the belt is off the bottom end won't move on its own.

There is a risk of the aluminium casting breaking this way though, due to how tight the pulley bolt is. If you have someone who can help then you can use a long screwdriver to hold the flywheel from the top of the gearbox.

The best method of removal is with an air ratchet though.
